 Merry Monday & Happy LABOR Day!!!!

This month "Fashion Favor" spotlight goes to Charrell Banks & Mariana Miley the ladies of Beyond Greatness Event Planning.

 

I had the pleasure of working with Beyond Greatness as they are the faces behind planning my BORN Day & Business Celebration!!!! I did not want the head & heartache of planning... so I went to them and explained what I wanted and they made it happen while staying within my budget!!!! All I had to do was show-up!!!!

Fashion Favor Q&A’s:
1. When did you ladies 1st discover your favor?

Well for both of us....planning events has always been apart of our life. Whether we were planning for family functions or work. Once we discovered that we both had the love, the passion, and the eye for planning lavish events, we decided to pray on it and allow GOD to order our steps!
2. What made you fast forward your favor and actually move on it?

• Well for me, I've tried the event planning business once before but the timing wasn't right and things did not fall into place. That was in 2006, and it's always been in my heart to do. And when Mariana came along...I felt is was GOD way of saying, NOW IS THE TIME! ~Charrell~
  
  
• I was working with a nonprofit organization planning different events, but the events where geared towards helping the young. Which I loved being apart of; however, once I met Charrell, I figure why not get paid to do something I'm so passionate about, and continue working with the nonprofit! ~Mariana~

 3. Where did the name Beyond Greatness originate?
I actually had to create a fictional nonprofit organization for school, and I used that name for my assignment. So, when forming the business, I formed a list of names and shared them with my business partner, Mariana, and out of 17 we narrow them down to five, and Beyond Greatness made the top 5! And we thought and talked about it and realized, that's our goal for our clients....to provide them with an event that is beyond great!


4. What has been the biggest hiccup?
Trying to market the business...getting out there!


5. What’s the most favorable part of the business?
Bring joy and excitement to our clients...our goal is to create a partnership with our clients, so we can be entrusted to plan every event in the future!


6. What encouraging words and/or advice would you offer someone that is looking to get into event planning?
Pray about it and make sure that, that's GOD will for your life. And when your will line up with his will... it's GOING TO WORK! Stay focus because ALL dreams are reachable!

This month Fashion Favor spotlight goes to my friend girl Cepada S. Martin who is the creator of the handbag that was featured in my Bag Lady Post

Cepada S. Martin is the newly PROUD owner of Sanai Boutique along with the help of her daughters: Bakisa K. Rountree and Baceka T. Martin

On Saturday June 4th,  I was on double duty... I had a Women Empowerment Brunch to attend and left empowered and ready to go support my friend and her new biz that I was sure not to miss the Fabulous Grand Opening of Sanai Boutique

The moment I stepped inside the luxurious purple posh boutique it felt like a Fashionista’s dream come true. The Sanai staff was very friendly and greeted everyone with a smile. The boutique is TOP-NATCH and was designed by none other than the love of her life… her creative artist/designer husband Lydell Martin

Fashion Favor Q&A’s:

When did you 1^st discover your favor? About 10 years ago when I started making leather purses and jewelry but I always knew I wanted to be in the Fashion industry.

What made you fast forward your favor and actually move on it? I have a major in Business & Fashion Design. I always wanted to own my own Boutique. I’ve always been into clothes, designs, looking good as well as smelling good.

Where did the name Sanai Boutique originate? My granddaughter name is Kalize Sanai, in which the boutique was name after.

When choosing colors for the boutique; why Purple? Purple signifies “ROYALTY” and it’s my favorite color.

What has been the biggest hiccup? Actually finding affordable & HAUTE fashions in all sizes.

What’s the most favorable part of owning your own Boutique?  Being able to see my vision come to life.  

What encouraging words and/or advice would you offer the next Fashionista? Be Patient and don’t give up… the BEST is yet to come.

Let’s Celebrate Cinco De Fashion!!!!

As the saying goes: “Favor Ain’t Fair” - It’s the same way when it comes to Fashion. Some folks are blessed with it and some or NOT! So, I have decided monthly that I will put the spotlight on someone who has been blessed with “Fashion Favor” and today will mark my 1^st “Fashion Favor” blog post and since it’s Cinco De Mayo I will call it: “Cinco De Fashion”.





Fashion Favor Spotlight goes to: Gigi Sharpe - Personal Shopper & Owner/Founder of Sistas with Styles Empowerment Organization and Styles of Prosperity Boutique.

 I had the pleasure of attending Styles of Prosperity Sneak Peek on last Saturday April 30^th at the “Sista’s House” and I must say it’s ever so FASHIONABLE!!!!

 

Fashion Favor Q&A’s:

When did you 1^st discover your favor? About 5 years ago. I watched this house for 3yrs, knocked on the door and left notes. The owner stated that she was selling the house and was not interested. Then just this year the owner called me up and stated that she was ready to make a deal. So, I moved on it. Things may NOT happen in our timing but it will always happen in God’s timing.

What made you fast forward your favor and actually move on it? I begin to release some things in my life and closed doors and realized my true passion. I had worked at TJX for 18yrs. In merchandising as a Store Manager and I kept saying to myself “It has to be another way out”.

What has been the biggest hiccup? Trying to do everything all by myself. Finally Let Go & Let God.

What’s the most favorable part? Being able to see everything come to pass as I have imagine it and God sending people my way.

What encouraging words and/or advice would you offer the next Fashionista? 1^st Seek the Kingdom of God and his righteousness and all will be added.  When you trust GOD you can’t go wrong. Sacrifice something to get what you have been seeking.
