Essence Fest 2013 Recap

~ I attended the Essence Festival ~

I know this post is a little late but considering my recent circumstances I’m sure you all won’t hold that against me!

It was my 1st time going and for the most part I can say that I had a fair share of FUN. Also, this was my 1st BUS TRIP which I travel for these many hours... My legs were supa sore! If I ever "BUS" it anywhere it won't be more than 2-4 hrs.

~ WARNING: Picture HEAVY ~

My folks: Shun, Mari & I

I just wanted to give you all a recap of the Essence Festival and share the GOOD, BAD, and UGLY.

It was definitely GOOD to hang out with genuine girlfriends!

Keisha, Tweety, Moi, & Mari
I got a chance to meet up with my cousin "Tweety" from Macon which was pretty amazing being that we mainly stay in touch via Facebook, Twitter, and IG

GOOD: One word: BEYONCE!!!!! Forget what you heard… This chick dominates a slays on stage!!!! I came for her and she gave me EVERYTHING I could have ask for in her performance. Bey is BADDDDD!!!! I’m talkin’ Michael Jackson BADDDDD!!!! No doubt she is in fact our modern day Michael Jackson!!!! It’s no denying that she is definitely Queen B!

Charlie Wilson performance was A+ - that man is a TRUE performer and is in great shape for his AGE!
Kudos Uncle Charlie

BAD: The CROWD – I don’t do good in crowded spaces… I mean like you can hardly walk down Bourbon Street it was just that crowded and then the crowd was our younger generation. I felt like a cougar amongst a pack of sheep’s and wolves. I’m just not with that type of environment most definitely if I

UGLY: This was my 2nd time going to NOLA and I knew that it had a smell a few years ago when I went but The SMELL seems to be from HELL (literally)!!!!! New Orleans is going to have to most definitely do something about that smell… I mean it’s almost unbearable but then if you are a heavy drinker than I’m guessing the smell doesn’t bother you as much but it smells like the sewage mist with sweat and alcohol.

Janelle Mona was on stage and the crowd wasn’t really there for her… everybody ok, almost everybody was walking, talking, texting, Instagramming, Facebooking, Tweetin’ and paying bills on their cellphone. Overall the crowd response was horrible.

Hanging out in the streetz of NOLA

Guess who was off the on their New Orleans thorne! "Momma Dee"

Blair Underwood

G Garvin & Rashod Ali

 The crowd was THICK!

Some things you just may see while visting NOLA!

Lastly, here is what I wore on the concert nights:

I only let my hair down for Beyonce! *Teehee*

NOTE TO YOU: As with every life event & moment... I live, learn, and cherish each moment I just have grown to realize that everything ain't for everybody. I would  most def plan ahead and do things a little different.

If you plan on going to the Essence Festival 2014 – Plan ahead and be sure to stay at The W (this is where most of the celebrity reside at) or The Hilton but whatever you do “DO NOT” stay on Bourbon Street unless you are into drunken stinky spaces.

Just Another Manicure Monday + Giveaway!

Lawdddd… y’all I didn’t think I was going to make it to see another week!!!! I have literally been down but not out!!!! The pain that I’ve experienced over the past week is indescribable.  If you follow me on Instagram then you know that I’ve been extremely sick… I’m thinking about doing a blog post about it. As of today, I’m not fully at 100% but I’m thankful that I’m able to see a new day!!!!
Getting right into my Manicure for this week… I spotted a Instagram post via Chrys of Married-to-Make-up about the new Wet-N-Wild Art Craze Nail Polishes (Limited Edition) on sale at Walgreen for .69 cents

I have not used ANYTHING made by Wet N Wild since like grade school. I’ve heard a lot about their lippies and make-up but when I saw the new Art Craze Nail Polishes sick or not I knew I had to have them! So, I sent my daughter to the store. That’s the advantage great part of having a daughter who can drive and has her own car… *giggles* However, by the time she had reached the store the $ALE must have ended by the time  she got to the store because instead of them being .69cents they were .99cents which was no problem because that is STILL a very reasonable price for nail polish being that I just spent like $5 for my last polish purchase.

At any rate, my life have been a spiral of ups and downs this past week I decided to try all of the colors out. So, to test out the polishes I did a nail swatch on each finger. This is not my BEST job doing my nails but I think they turned out a pretty RAINBOW BRITE considering my circumstances.

I don’t have the white pictured but I used it as the base coat then applied the color. I didn’t have a problem with any of the colors but the green polish brush was defective to the point I had to cut it as all the bristles were “out of whack” but I’m not going to make a huge fuss about it being that the price was unbelievable. I love the color palette and how the colors turned out. I like the colors so much that I’ve decided to do a GIVEAWAY!!!!!

The giveaway will consist of 3 FREE bottles of Art Craze Nail Polishes of your choice. This is also my way of saying: “THANK YOU” to everyone for the calls, text messages, emails, IG Love, Twitter and Facebook messages. You all are greatly appreciated!!!! J

~The WINNER will be randomly selected via Raffle copter.  and announced on Tuesday August 6th~

MANICure Monday is a weekly nail polish/mani link-up that will be rotated between Lipgloss and Binky and yours truly: LA Lynn's

P.S. I think my blogger is running out of space as I am unable to load pictures... and my margin is all over the place so please excuse this post if it comes out A HOT MESS! *Sigh*

Manicure Monday on Tuesday!

Just getting back in from the Essence Fest in New Orleans
I left the ATL with my “ratchet” nails that needed some desperate attention so upon my arrival in Nawlins I headed straight to the nail shop and got a fresh Mani & Pedi at Angels Nails Spa on Canal St. I’m real picky about sticking my foot in a salon bowl so for me to get a Pedi in New Orleans I had to have been desperate… *Desperate situations requires Desperate measures and this was indeed a 911 situation!

Pop of Yellow... OOTD!

Ok, soooo I’m seriously NOT trying to be a “Fashion Blogger” because that is not why I started this blog… Although, I LOVE fashion just as much as the next person but I am not about that LIFE! LOL!!!!

~ For the record: I'm still a "Lifestyle Blogger" - It's just that my LIFE is moving faster than expected! ~

I just so happen to have gotten back from VACAY & guess what… I have “writers block” – When I was on the plane I promise you I had all these brillant blog ideas and once I get home it’s like I can’t even remember what today is… so since you are here you might as well have a look at my outfit that I wore a few weeks ago on #LAShoesDay – Andddd… if you are still asking what is #LAShoesDay (slap yourself) No seriously, SLAP YOURSELF!!!!

This is one of those dresses was hanging in the back of my closet that I completely forgot that I had… Don’t you just simply LOVE when that happens! It’s almost like buying/getting a new outfit for FREE!!!!

Disclaimer: These pics were taken with an iPhone so I apologize in advance if the quality is not DSLR quality and excuse our grass apparently the grass isn’t greener on the other side because our yard is FULL of weeds!!!! LOL!!!!!
Hmmm… I wonder if our HOA seen our grass before we cut it ~shrugs~

Lastly, it seems that this whole “Google thingy” is pretty serious in the blog world so to keep in touch with me please be sure to follow me via Twitter, FB, and/or Instagram.

NOTE TO YOU:  I greatly appreciate you guys and want to thank each and every one that keep up with my blog. I know I have been a slacker lately and I want to make sure that I am adding value to the blogosphere and not just simply wasting internet space and/or your time so with that being said: What are some of the things that you would like to see featured on my blog?
