Essence Fest 2013 Recap

~ I attended the Essence Festival ~

I know this post is a little late but considering my recent circumstances I’m sure you all won’t hold that against me!

It was my 1^st time going and for the most part I can say that I had a fair share of FUN. Also, this was my 1st BUS TRIP which I travel for these many hours... My legs were supa sore! If I ever "BUS" it anywhere it won't be more than 2-4 hrs.

I just wanted to give you all a recap of the Essence Festival and share the GOOD, BAD, and UGLY.   

It was definitely GOOD to hang out with genuine girlfriends!

I got a chance to meet up with my cousin "Tweety" from Macon which was pretty amazing being that we mainly stay in touch via Facebook, Twitter, and IG

GOOD: One word: BEYONCE!!!!! Forget what you heard… This chick dominates a slays on stage!!!! I came for her and she gave me EVERYTHING I could have ask for in her performance. Bey is BADDDDD!!!! I’m talkin’ Michael Jackson BADDDDD!!!! No doubt she is in fact our modern day Michael Jackson!!!! It’s no denying that she is definitely Queen B!

Charlie Wilson performance was A+ - that man is a TRUE performer and is in great shape for his AGE!

BAD: The CROWD – I don’t do good in crowded spaces… I mean like you can hardly walk down Bourbon Street it was just that crowded and then the crowd was our younger generation. I felt like a cougar amongst a pack of sheep’s and wolves. I’m just not with that type of environment most definitely if I

  

UGLY: This was my 2^nd time going to NOLA and I knew that it had a smell a few years ago when I went but The SMELL seems to be from HELL (literally)!!!!! New Orleans is going to have to most definitely do something about that smell… I mean it’s almost unbearable but then if you are a heavy drinker than I’m guessing the smell doesn’t bother you as much but it smells like the sewage mist with sweat and alcohol.

Janelle Mona was on stage and the crowd wasn’t really there for her… everybody ok, almost everybody was walking, talking, texting, Instagramming, Facebooking, Tweetin’ and paying bills on their cellphone. Overall the crowd response was horrible.

NOTE TO YOU: As with every life event & moment... I live, learn, and cherish each moment I just have grown to realize that everything ain't for everybody. I would  most def plan ahead and do things a little different.

If you plan on going to the Essence Festival 2014 – Plan ahead and be sure to stay at The W (this is where most of the celebrity reside at) or The Hilton but whatever you do “DO NOT” stay on Bourbon Street unless you are into drunken stinky spaces.

The 4-1-1... #LAShoesday

Ok, so here’s the 4-1-1 (info, update, the bizness)

I leave for Bahamas in the morning & guess what???!!! I STILL haven’t packed… I have got to be the BIGGEST procrastinator known to man-kind! But don’t get it twisted ~ I do get ish done. It’s just something about doing things under pressure. It gives me an adrenaline rush! I know that might sound KRAZY but I get a major RUSH by RUSHING! ~shrugs

Imma work on my time management ~ PINKY PROMISE!

That was one of my vision board objectives. Speaking of vision board so many things are starting to come to pass that I’m VERY excited about life and what God is doing. I will keep y’all posted on all the exciting news in due time.

Lastly, if you follow me on Facebook/Instagram then you know that I do what I call #ShoesdayTuesday I initially started this as a challenge for myself to make sure that I wear all my shoes in my closet. But seems like I wasn’t the only one in the virtual world with the same idea so I wanted to know if any of my readers would like to join me?

A Day Late & A Dollar Short

I may be a day late but I would still like to wish everyone a HAPPY RESURRECTION DAY!!!!

Webster defines the word resurrection as: the act of rising from the dead. Such act many of us may be able to relate to. However, there are some people that find themselves walking among the dead and/or sleep walking. But, it is TIME to wake-up!!!! I have been extremely busy this past week that I may have been among the dead. Just this past week, I had my wake-up call and realized that I was just existing and throughout my existence I came to understand that not everybody who started this journey with me are compelled to make it to the finish line with me. What I do know is that God didn’t bring me this far to leave me. Therefore, I am comfortable in knowing that I can walk in greatness because I am destined to do so. With that being said my past week journey was super busy and super blessed… which consisted of: A Trip w/ my hubby to New Orleans, My Baby Girl 14^th Birthday, My Senior Child Prom, A New Hair Do for Me, Women of Purpose Fashion Show, and Lastly, but NOT least Resurrection Day celebration w/ Family & Friends! I’m such a lucky girl. Oops, that’s a understatement... I’m such a “BLESSED WOMAN”!!!!
