Thrifted Thursday... OOTD!

Today I am sharing pics that I posted on IG on yesterday…  StushiGal Style has a fashion segment on IG that she will be bringing to her blog called: #StyleSnatchin where someone may have played a part in your fashion inspiration were you were inspired.

I completely forgot I had these overall short set that I thrifted in the beginning of the Summer until after I saw my blogger boo Neshante of Style is She rock hers a few days ago. Once I saw her in her outfit immediately I was inspired. I knew my time was limited because it will be getting cold soon so I took advantage of the nice weather that “ATL” had on yesterday and put on my overalls which was PERFECT for a few errands and a quick road trip to Alabama.

Here’s a closer look at my #StyleSnatchin Inspiration

 What I Wore:

Camo T-Shirt - Imperfect Concepts
Overalls - Thrifted
Wedge Sneakers - Zara
Accesories: LA Lynn's
Shades: Borrowed from my daughter

Disclaimer: Please ignore my neighbors house that needs a bad pressure washing... Let's just hope he's a reader of my blog & get that taken care of. HA!

NOTE TO YOU: I can’t remember the last time I wore overalls & then overall shorts at that… Funny thing is I didn’t like overalls when I was younger and now I’m thrilled when I see them & to actually wear them. The little voice in my head kept telling me I was too old for overalls but then voice #2 reminded me:
Wear what makes you HAPPY! J

Thrifted Thursday + A Message to our QUEENS!

Happy Friday Eve Folks… I just realized that I’ve been wearing “Thrifted” pieces this week. I’m surely not complaining because I’m definitely getting the opportunity to rotate a few item in my closet that having worn over a long period of time. Most days I’m not exactly sure what to wear because the weather here in Atlanta has been extremely “out of ordinary” for it to be August! I can’t believe how cool it is and how much rain we have had over the course of the past few weeks!

I haven’t been thrifting in months… I found myself buying things I didn’t need so instead of going back into anymore “Thrift Stores” I’m going to take advantage of the items that I already have.

Here’s a look at the past (3) three “thrifted” outfits that I have worn so far this week.

On yesterday when I posted this look on my IG and Facebook page I was feeling REAL ladylike and my caption read:
Society has our young generation believing that showing A$$ is CLASS but in REALITY a Man will “address” you the way you dress… Respect is given when shown!

~Always Keep it CLASSY Ladies!!!!

We witness so many females that post half naked pictures just to gain a like on IG/Facebook or a Follow on Twitter… I’m thinking what happen to morals and self-respect! I understand there are models and professionals that get paid to do this but what message is this sending to our younger generation? They are our future and if we EXPECT the best from them we MUST show them the best from how we live to how we dress.

NOTE TO YOU:
I am in no way judging how anyone dresses… To each its own but I’m raising 2 daughters to be QUEENS over here! And, I live each day so that can look at me and honesty say they are PROUD of me. I know I am their greatest cheerleader as they are mine. They are watching me so I have to be the BEST example and Mommy I can be.

Folks are too afraid to be a VOICE but at some point someone has to take a STAND and let our young girls know that there’s more to life than a follow or a LIKE!

Flashback Friday

Happy Friday Loves… I initially started this post as Throwback “Thrifted” Thursday but once (again) blogger was being a booger so I couldn’t get the post out in time so just pretend it’s “Thursday” lol

Today is my Friday so you know I’m feeling G-R-E-A-T so how y’all doin’??? (in my Wendy Williams voice)
Speaking of Wendy Williams today is her birthday… I spotted this pic on Instagram check out her Birthday Cake!

Today, I’m sharing pics that were in my archive photo file that I snapped before getting my braids…

I am seriously thinking about cutting my hair but I don’t want to cut it then regret it but then again there’s ALWAYS weave. ~wink

The shirt is thrifted via my niece which she gave the shirt to my daughter and I sort of jacked my daughter for it… I love it because it’s a half Lion Head/Face and half Head/Face of Bob Marley.

What I Wore:
Shirt: Thrifted
Skirt: Old
Shoes: Isis Boutique
Accessories: LA Lynn’s
Shades: Borrowed via my daughter

NOTE TO YOU:  I will leave you all with one of the many Bob Marley quotes: “The truth is, everyone is going to hurt you. You just got to find the ones worth suffering for. ~Bob Marley

Same Girl, Same Jumper… Styled Differently!

Today I woke up all XTRA excited because my niece and my lil cousin will be officially graduating from High School this afternoon. It’s a blessing to be able to witness this.

There are so many graduations during this month and it’s a beautiful sight to see all the JOY in parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, teachers, and other relatives eyes as they see these babies walk across that stage and receive their diploma for which they work so hard for.

So often we hear bad stories/news about our younger generation when we flip on the TV or turn to social media so when you are in the presence of hearing and seeing good news about our youth it’s a blessing! Embrace the good times, celebrate with them, love them, and continue to encourage them. Our YOUTH need encouragement more than we may know.

This is a jumper that I purchased last year from Corie of It's My Taste and I wore it again and styled it differently by adding a Thrifted Blazer and a few accessories

NOTE TO YOU: If you know a teenager or young adult offer them some encouraging words and allow them to be able to look at you and see a light of inspiration as it’s going to take a whole nation to heal this GENERATION!!!!

Thankful Thrifted Thursday… OOTD!

This is going to be a REALLY quick post as I am headed out with my girls…

1st off let me just say: You can meet some of the most amazing folks on social media networks as I virtually met Shoemisses via Instagram. She started following me and I took a liking to her pictures and found her pics to be interesting so I started following her back as she has a niche for thrifting as I do. She thrifted this skirt I’m wearing (for yourself) but once she got home she realized she already had the exact same skirt at home. We virtually communicated about the skirt then she sent me an email to follow-up and she was kind enough to ship the skirt to me and to my SURPRISE she put another skirt in the package! And, peep this she didn’t even charge anything for the skirt(s). I just paid a little of nothing for shipping so you can pretty much say the skirt was FREE! J
