NOT so Wordless Wednesday… Faith & Fashion!

1st off Happy HuMp Day…
Humping right into today’s post I wanted to remind my readers that NOT to allow circumstances to change who you are as a person. I have seen folks who started out blogging with me who are all of a sudden too good to speak to me!

{ Nope, I’m not MAD… I’m just saying}

Also, a lot of folks get the word “FASHIONISTA” & “FASHION” twisted!

Yeah, don’t get me wrong I LOVE Fashion, Fingernail Polish, Accessories, Shoes, Pink, Glitter, and ANYTHING Girly & FABULOUS!!!! But what I LOVE most is my FAITH in GOD!

Since my very 1st blog post HERE my posts where going to be all about FAITH! Then I figured there would be naysayers and folks sitting back waiting to see me backslide, make a mistake, or do something wrong just so they could throw it back at me. So, shortly after I started blogging I decided to incorporate FASHION as I LOVE Fashion so I thought WHY NOT! However, when I share my “fashion finds” it’s not to show off or to show that I look better than the next blogger, co-worker, or sister… I’m simply sharing affordable pieces that I feel will be able to inspire someone. I don’t know who stated that you had to wear name brand or pay a million bucks just to be considered fashionable. My style may not be your style and that’s why it is “my style”. I have stated on numerous occasions that I will take FAITH over FASHION any day of the week weak! These manmade materials don’t make me nor can they break me; I could care less about who got this and that. Lately, it seems as if everybody is in competition with one another whether it be on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and even when it comes to blogging. At the end of the day those likes won’t get you a ticket to Heaven or your followers won’t get you a seat next to Moses!

I like realistic and genuine people that do REAL things & live REAL lives – I’m not checking for that chic with the 30K followers because at the end of the day I don’t know how she got what she got and she just may not be as happy as she appear to be with herself because she just may be living a complete LIE!

U will be amazed at how some folks… get caught up in “social media shows” – meaning they put on a SHOW just for social media! I truly feel bad for these individuals who didn’t get enough attention growing up that they have to seek attention on social networks. I will put all these social sites down in a heartbeat if it means I have to sell my soul!
If I’m not SOLD SOULED out for Christ then I’m NOT selling and I’m definitely not buying the BULL that most of these folks are dishing out! Nope, I’m not a sellout… NEVER have been & never will be!

To conclude this post… Folks, are going to talk no matter if you are doing good, looking good or not so I will continue to incorporate my LOVE for FAITH & Fashion into my “LIFESTYLE” blog (posts) hoping that I can inspire, encourage, and empower someone whether it be through my words or my wardrobe!

Speaking of wardrobe... here are a few pics from what I wore to Church a few Sundays ago.

Pastor Tanda Joy Canion & I

No matter what... As long as these two look up to me I'm good!
My Faith & My Family = My LIFE!

What I Wore:
Dress: JC Penney $14 (major score)
Shoes: JustFab
Necklace: H & M
Earrings/Bracelet: LA Lynn's
Clutch: Thrifted $1

NOTE TO YOU: Nope, I’m not a “Fashionista” but I LOVE FASHION… I’m NOT Self-Made but I’m Godly Made. At the end of the day… I sleep well knowing that if nobody has me - GOD got ME!!!!

~Until Next Time

Peace, Love, Faith, & Fashion

  5. I keep a low profile online as well as in life...I have grown to find that those who love and support me will do so no matter what. And superficial relationships will fizzle out with time. I like blogs that have a balance of portraying who that person is but educating the masses about products so the blogger is compensated for their time. Humility is key...it allows you to appreciate success! I think the thoughts you share in this post show evidence of that strength n you Lynn...thats why I follow you.

  8. You better tell it! Why is that people feel like we as Christians can't be fashionable or have a good time like everybody else?! I hate that if you talk about your faith you get stereotyped as being holier than thou, perfect and you're not suppose to look sexy, you're not suppose to enjoy dancing, etc. I ain't got the time. I'm living my life for God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and myself.

I don't ever get twisted thinking that material things will get me into heaven. However, I refuse to let people make feel bad having the nice things whether it be my fashions, a car, or whatever. I think that you've found your calling and your way of witnessing for the Lord. It just so happens to involve fashion and that is fine! They might initially come for the fashion but trust me I've never left your blog without reading an encouraging word! Keep doing you!

  16. This post is so true Lynn I'm not sure how straight size blogger world is but I know plus size blogging has turned into a competition to see who can get the most likes etc and some people really do seem to NEED attention from social networks. Maybe because I have a husband I just don't feel that same need to get approval from the masses. If they like it fine and if they don't as long as I like it that's what matters. Brand names don't buy you style and followers won't get any bills paid. Don't EVEN get started on the bougie people that are too big to comment back or show support smdh........Keep going you and being genuine and I LOVEEEEEE the snakeskin and neon combo!!!

    1. Yes!!!! It's so sad... U can pretty much tell the genuine folks out there these days and the folks who just do it for attention! I'm good on the attention tho... I've never been pressed for attention. But I guess some folks have to impress others. Thank you for all of your support. Also, thanks for the compliment! *blushing* lol
